At the recent IIT, Mumbai festival Mobiance Technologies, a venture of three ex-IITians, demonstrated a software using which a mobile user can track another mobile user through their mobiles or through the Internet.
The tracking will be permission-based. The subscriber who will be tracked will be first asked for permission to disclose their location. This permission can be a one-time or unlimited permission for being tracked.
The technology can be used not just for locating loved ones, but also for getting local directory listings.
