The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has today announced a cut in the Access Deficit Charge (ADC). STD & ISD call rates are expected to fall on the Feb. 1, 2005, when the new ADC comes into effect. There is, however, no change in the ADC for local calls.
Most major telecom players have announced that they will pass on the benefit of the cut to the users. Airtel has announced that they will pass on 100% of the cut to their users from Feb. 1.
| Type of call | New ADC | Old ADC |
| STD | 30 paise/min. | 50-80 paise/min. |
